This mixes films is almost 2 films in one. In the first half we see a GI coming home from the war, who just can't wait to get a house of his own (he even
...
looks at his dream home on the front lines.. guess nothing else is distracting him). He picks up his wife and kid and they go house hunting, to no avail as the home shortage crisis after WWII was in full swing. To solve this problem, What was so unusual about this part is that the narrator appeared to be doing all the voices for all the people in the case. I could be wrong, but it sounded like it. In the 2ns half, many people are going to Mayor's office to solve this problem (not about the narrator.. about.. ah you know what I mean). Everyone has their own position and speaks about this issue. The problem with this part that it just seemed TOO clean, and that everyone seemed to have a speech memorized and to speak on cue, which downgraded it's believability. Still, the message did make it across, "we must build more housing!" and we go back full circle to the GI and his family, and his uncertain future.
